The beauty of Oppo is you talk about just about anything.

What’s the rest of your specs? At full stress, your gpu’s tdp will be around 127 watts

We need to know a bit more info, like what your CPU is and stuff.
Honestly, you’d probably be fine as long as you aren’t overclocking anything. And worst case, you can underclock it a bit until you can upgrade the PSU.

You should be able to do it, if the rest is still stock. Any idea of the brand, age, and previous usage of the PSU? They tend to deteriorate over time, so it might not be a bad idea to upgrade it regardless.
Protip: there’s a lot of PSU calculators out there, like
this one
. They’re not the be all, end all, but a good way to get an initial idea.

I don’t know I just bought the computer.

Looks like you should be fine. CPU - 130W GPU - 127W, HDD runs about 6 or 7 watts under load.
I can’t believe you can survive with a 160gb HDD, though. I almost feel bad. I have a spare 500GB HDD in my machine that I really don’t need, if you want it. I’ll send it to you for cost of shipping from Indiana, if you’re interested.

Thank you for the info.

Seeing the rest of your specs, I’d second Sam and say you’re safe (plenty of margin, even if it’s some off-brand, low quality PSU). Just keep in mind to get a high quality PSU if you’re ever planning a serious upgrade or a build from scratch, it’s literally what keeps your computer alive.

I’m starting to wonder should I take my brothers cx430 out of his build I made for him, and replace it with the dell.

I guess both should work, but from a pragmatic point of view, I’d put the CX430 in the most expensive PC, just in (the very unlikely!) case the Dell PSU fails and takes out one or more components.

I’ve just looked up some more information about the Dell PSU, and it seems to be decent quality (expensive as well), so go for it!

Just keep them in their original place then, should work fine and give both of you a decent amount of headroom (for peace of mind or overclocking).

Intel’s specs put your CPU tdp at 130 Watts: http://ark.intel.com/m/products/397…
Your system will probably need 300ish watts under load, so you’re probably fine like others have said. Just make sure to keep an eye on that PSU just in case

Shout out to VNSHoon!
BTW I agree with what the others said on the power supply thing. 700w+ is good enough for a broad range if I recall. (I got lucky that my video card uses the exact amount my power supply is)

Do you know when you can ship it out?

Going to be sending it within the hour. Had some hiccups with the bootmgr still being on the drive, so I had to take care of that.

That’s fine, thank you so much for the offer in the first place!
